A home for the lovers of Ahlul-Bayt (AS)

Dar-e-Butool — "the Home of Butool" — is named in honour of Sayyida Fatima al-Zahra (SA), titled al-Batool (the pure, the chaste). Located in Fremont, California, our center serves the Bay Area Shia Ithna Ashari community according to the Jafari school of thought, following the path of the Twelve Imams (peace be upon them all).

We are a volunteer-run, community-funded organisation. Our doors are open to everyone who wishes to learn about Islam, the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) and his pure family, and to share in the spiritual gatherings of our community.

Daily Majalis

During Muharram and Safar, we gather every evening for Majlis-e-Aza in the remembrance of Imam Hussain (AS) and his loyal companions of Karbala.

Madressa & Education

Weekend Islamic education for our children — Quran, Fiqh, Tareekh, and the lives of the Fourteen Masoomeen (AS).

Community Service

Soup kitchens, charitable drives, and welfare for the needy — embodying the teachings of Sayyida Fatima al-Zahra (SA).

Ladies & Youth Programs

Dedicated halaqas, mehfils, and gatherings for sisters and the youth of our community.

A lifelong Bay Area resident and son of one of Northern California's earliest Shia families, Salman was raised in living rooms that, every Muharram, were transformed into miniatures of Karbala — where the elegies of Imam Hussain (AS) were the lullabies of his childhood and the love of the Ahlul-Bayt (AS) was poured into him long before he could read.

Engineer by day and a devoted servant of the Ahlul-Bayt (AS) by every other breath, he leads the technology of Dar-e-Butool with a single quiet conviction: that every line of code, every screen we build, every gathering we make easier to find, may in some small way hasten the dawn this Ummah has awaited for over a thousand years — the reappearance of our beloved Imam al-Mahdi (AJTF).
